Heart To Heart: a conversation with Kandi & Mila Jam

The Stonewall Riots were started by Marsha P. Johnson, a Black trans woman, and lasted from June 28 to July 3, 1968. Although June is over, the legacy of Marsha P. Johnson still lives on through “artivist”, Mila Jam. Using music as a tool to entertain and educate, Mila highlights issues of both the Black and trans community in her artistry. Music is a universal language and in “Heart To Heart”, Kandi and Mila illuminate their experiences in the industry and beyond.
