ELECTRIC start to SEASON 7 with ZEBSTRIKA! GLASS CANNON hits HARD! | Pokemon GO Battle League PvP

In this video we take a look at a collection of battles in Season 7 of the Pokemon GO Battle League (GBL) in the Great League featuring Zebstrika, Hitmontop, Obstagoon and Mantine.

In today's video we are taking a look at our first sets of battles for the new season of Pokemon GO Battle League, Season 7!

To celebrate the start of the new season we are kicking it off in style with some spice which everyone is guaranteed as their first Pokemon reward encounter, Zebstrika.

Zebstrika is a Pokemon that has a similar moveset to the one we see a lot of Mew's running in Great League with Flame Charge and Wild Charge. It does not have access to Shadow Claw which is unfortunate given the great typing coverage Shadow Claw gives Mew, however it does have Spark which generates energy at a decent rate as well. It also has access to Low Kick which would be an awesome move for typing coverage, however, Low Kick is a very bad move in terms of it's energy gain, performing significantly worse than Spark despite both being 2-turn moves.

Flame Charge is a Fire-type move that raises the users Attack stat, making Wild Charge and spark deal even more damage. Wild Charge is a heavy hitting move which lowers the users Defense, so it is a very fun but tricky Pokemon to use.

For this video we are rounding out the spice with two different leads, Hitmontop in the first set, followed by a more traditional non-spicy lead in Obstagoon for the second set.

Mantine operates as the safe-switch, one of the most underutilized Pokemon in the meta which has mostly been an afterthought in players minds.

While Zebstrika performs well in these battles it is important to remember that these battles take place in the early part of the season at low ranks, so they should not be considered a reliable source of information at this time to determine whether or not it is worth using long-term.

In this video we use a team consisting of: Zebstrika (Spark, Flame Charge, Wild Charge), Hitmontop (Counter, Close Combat, Stone Edge), Obstagoon (Counter, Night Slash, Gunk Shot) & Mantine (Wing Attack, Ice Beam, Bubble Beam).
