A deadly Adz - new handle - full Restore.

A captivating video to ensnare your senses. This Adze was given to me "FREE" just when I was looking for one. The head was completely rusted over but electrolysis revealed the makers stamp in perfect condition.

I made a conscious decision to leave the mushroomed head alone. Call me weird but I quite like it because it is part of the tool's history and if I ground it back then I would have also lost that beautiful black patina in that area and would have had to turn the whole thing silver.

The original handle was cracked but fortunately I was able to use that as a template to make an exact copy. The best timber I had on hand was some recycled merbau railing and it turned out perfect and has a really nice color too. Merbau is not a traditional timber for handles but was easy to work, has just the right amount of hardness and spring so not sure why it is not used more often?
