Survival fishing: We don't catch, we don't eat

Fishing is all fun and games when you've got a couple of po-boys waiting to be devoured in the Coleman. The sport takes on an entirely different feel when you're literally fishing for your next meal.

That's what Marsh Man Masson and his son, Joel, did this week. They set out on a survival challenge that required them to catch fish or go hungry. According to their predetermined rules, each meal could consist only of the fish caught immediately before it. Fish could not be stored for a future meal.

The first outing was complicated by unforeseen mechanical trouble, which had the anglers wondering if they'd have to resort to panhandling or dumpster diving.

Check back at the Marsh Man Masson channel on YouTube for future videos in the series.
