nanook revisited
Robert Flaherty's Nanook of the North created the very genre of film documentary, with its documentation of the Inuit and Eskimo traditions. This film revisits Inukjiak, the site of Flaherty's filming, and learns that he staged much of what he filmed. The documentary critically rexamines the realities behind the documentary and the changes in the Inuit culture since the film was made almost 70 years ago.
