The electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a useful tool in the diagnosis of heart disease. It measures electrical activity in the heart and records it on a graph. As a nursing student, you already know that EKG rhythm interpretation is one of the most important things you'll learn in your career.

It's a skill that will help you save lives, but it can be hard to learn what all those little squiggly lines mean on an EKG paper. EKG measurements are the numerical values used to analyze heart rate and determine whether or not there is any abnormal activity.
