On June 5, 2007, Bon Jovi played a three and a half hour set with 20 songs in Steiner Studios. The band taped this show for an Unplugged special which was broadcast on MTV, VH1, and CMT. This clip is an excerpt from that show.

"Moving further up the celebrity chain, Bon Jovi performed the song on an Unplugged session and for a live DVD, though Jon Bon Jovi confesses that when he first heard "Hallelujah," he was among the many people who thought that Jeff Buckley had written it. "I saw Buckley at a club called the Saint, in Asbury Park, that couldn't have held more than a hundred people," he said. "I heard him sing 'Hallelujah' and I said, 'that's the hit!'" And somebody said, 'Nice going, genius, that's a Leonard Cohen song.' And I said, 'Well, it's the only song he's (Buckley) got.'"

"Another night at The T-Birds Café in Asbury Park, there was this new kid by the name of Jeff Buckley who my label was very hot on. He was coming to play in Asbury for the first time. I sat in between Jon (Bon Jovi) and Richie (Sambora) at a table right in front of Jeff, while he blew us away with his extraordinary talent. The room only could hold about 50 people and there may have only been 5 other people in the room besides us. Richie was beside himself about his incredible guitar playing. That night Jeff played the Leonard Cohen song 'Hallelujah'…it was the first time Jon had ever heard it. It then became a staple in Bon Jovi shows and Leonard’s favorite cover version."
