It’s the big build-up where we meet the new crew who have signed up for the extraordinary ocean adventure, follow the crew as they take on the mandatory ocean racing training before the excitement and tension rises around the race departure from Liverpool. Once the crews are underway, it’s a 5000 nautical mile race across the Atlantic Ocean to Uruguay, crossing the equator for the first time in this 11-month race. But the heat, the lack of wind in the infamous doldrums, and the testing conditions push the race crew to their limits as these new recruits get used to living life at 45 degrees.

This is the third season of the award-winning international sailing documentary series. The story unfolds across seven one-hour shows as the Clipper 2017-18 Race crew members experience the highs and lows of highly competitive ocean racing right from the start in Liverpool, UK.

Each episode creates a compelling viewing experience as more than 700 race crew in eleven identical 70-foot stripped down ocean racing yachts take on The Race of Their Lives and a full circumnavigation of the globe.
