Captain Cody lived in Sitka Alaska for the summer and shows you the best places to go in Sitka. This includes fun excursions, places to eat, places to hike, places to fish, places to camp.

Cruise ships visit Sitka Alaska daily in the summertime. Some days there are three cruise ships in town. Knowing the best excursion can make the trip more enjoyable. Many people tell me that the fishing excursion they went on with me was the highlight of their trip.

Fish you can catch in Sitka include King Salmon, silver salmon, red salmon, chum salmon, pink salmon, halibut, lingcod, rockfish, and sharks.

Not only do you get to fish on a fishing excursion but you also get to see all the wildlife. This includes whales, sea lions, sea otters eagles, and murre birds.

In Sitka Alaska, there is a facility called fortress of the bears where rescue black bears and brown bears can be viewed. There is also the Alaska raptor center where bald eagles can be seen.

Downtown there are many places to eat and shop. There is also a hatchery and kids exhibit.
