Snap Rover with arduino and esp8266 (nothing fancy)

The esp8266 is set as an access point.

Arduino is and starting the server (AT+CIPMUX=1 / AT+CIPSERVER=1,8888).

Then on the main loop is waiting for a line like +IPD,0,388:GET /?var=F HTTP/1.1 , when detected the variable is extracted and the action is taken. After any action a simple html is sent back to the browser.

Working with links is SLOW, a better way to do this would be talk to the socket from javascript and keep the connection opened (socket.io maybe).

On the video the rover is using an external power supply, but the 6 AA batteries that fits inside the Snap Rover are ok to drive it for a while. I should install a capacitor on the 3.3 line, some times the esp8266 is restarted when the motors start to run.

The motors are driven by a L298N
