On The Scene: Eight Filipinos from Naic, Cavite engaged in fishing activities in waters off Lubang island in Occidental Mindoro mid-January. On the evening of January 30, their wooden fishing boat was hit by an unidentified vessel. Five of the fishermen were rescued around February 15 or 16 by Vietnamese cargo vessel Dong An, which was passing near the Spratly islands.
