In this video we go over what it may mean for Tesla in their battery cell vertical integration. At the moment it appears Tesla is trying to vertically integrate a new battery technology into their cars like Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck in the future, and also large scale energy storage for utility companies and home storage. Perhaps a dry battery electrode technology via Maxwell Technologies. If Tesla can improve battery specific energy densities, and decrease manufacturing costs at gigafactory or even terafactories going forward, Tesla will expand their lead in the industry of autonomy and electrification.
