If Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan loses the upcoming national elections, it may revive Turkey’s western defence deals. Turkish presidential challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu has said that his party will work towards approving the $20 billion deal for US F-16 fighter jets. So a Kilicdaroglu victory could mean Turkey regaining entry into the F-35 multi-role combat aircraft program.
