Vanessa's Endless Winter

Vanessa Moss has stage 4 Neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. After 26 months of frontline treatment at Great Ormond Street in London, including 17 months as an in-patient… 80 days of a chemotherapy, 3 major surgeries including removing and replacing her intestines and cracking open her rib-cage, a bone marrow transplant, upper body radiotherapy, antibody therapy and 6 months of caustic accutane pills.... she finally went into remission. But this was still not aggressive enough to kill her cancer... after a few happy months of normal life Vanessa's cancer has returned. A single metastases from her original cancer has survived in an inoperable part of her skull called the Sphenoid bone… this is a very negative sign. We are now raising money for treatment in New York City at Sloane Kettering hospital. It's Vanessa's only chance of survival.
We made this movie two days after telling Vanessa that her cancer had returned. The day after filming we cropped short the hair she was so proud to have regrown - we've learned this is kinder than letting it fall out in clumps. We stare at this video of our beautiful girl and struggle to understand how she can be so perilously ill. Cancer seems to thrive on innocence.
