What Painting Taught Me About Perfectionism

What happens when the vision in your head doesn't quite match what appears on the canvas?

In this studio session, I'm sharing the process behind a recent woman and fox painting, along with some thoughts on perfectionism, creativity and learning to trust the journey rather than focusing on the outcome.

As artists and creatives, it's easy to believe we need the perfect idea, the perfect plan or the perfect amount of time before we begin. But I've found that some of the most meaningful work emerges when we allow ourselves to experiment, make mistakes and stay curious.

In this video I share:
✨ My process for developing a painting from an initial idea
✨ Using reference images and intuition together
✨ Working with oils and letting the painting evolve
✨ Thoughts on perfectionism and creative confidence
✨ Why creativity matters, even when life feels busy

If you've ever felt disconnected from your creativity, overwhelmed by perfectionism or unsure where to begin, I hope this encourages you to take the next small step.
