Jim Kovaleski, the 'Nomadic Farmer': Florida Farm Summer Update to $5.6K Gardening Other Yards
Jim Kovaleski is a nomadic farmer. He divides his year between the 2 climates growing vegetables & fruits for the seasonal markets of Central Florida & North Maine. His philosophies & all-around positive attitude are an enormous inspiration for all who get to spend a little time with him. We felt honored to be able to share his wonderful nature with you & this time around, we are happy to show off his legendary little plot of land during it's summer resting period.
Each April, as he wraps up the final Florida markets, he puts his land to sleep - filling the planting beds with cover crops & covering his pathways & driveways with weed mat (you can find the video here: https://youtu.be/h2zgZQZv07Y ). This very video will highlight his efforts for all to see.
Jim has been a wonderful friend & mentor to us for the past 6 years & we have made countless visits to this little haven over the time. This time, we are coming out to give the place just a little bit of TLC & decided it was a good opportunity to show you just what it looks like, when Jim is away each year (April - Oct). As you will see, it is not at all a weedy mess - but actually quite productive, with very few weeds at all.
We will be traveling up to Maine in 2 weeks to film Jim at his farm site in Maine for a series of videos on annual vegetable production, so be sure to subscribe!
