A strange and stressful week to be living in the Philippines. Gunshots inside the Senate as authorities tried to arrest a senator on an ICC warrant, articles of impeachment transmitted against Vice President Sara Duterte, an ongoing fuel crisis, and the flood control scandal still unresolved.

I’m not Filipino. But this is the country I live in and a country I love. And in moments like this, the Gospel is the only thing I’ve ever found that truly holds.
