Greek Band KYMATA (Bay Area - California)

The KYMATA band was founded in 1994 by George Mylordos, the late George Mihailidis, and Kosta Papamichael, to cover Greek music of all mainstream genres.  Under the leadership of George Mylordos, KYMATA has performed in hundreds of events around the Bay Area and beyond. The band has included a wide-range of additional Greek music-loving musicians over the years.

The current KYMATA band members are: 
George Mylordos on bouzouki and vocals. Born and raised on the island of Cyprus, played in local taverns in his early musical career, and performed at Greek nightclubs in the US from the early 80s through the mid-90s. George studied music at San Francisco State University and graduated with a degree in Music.
Kostas Papamichael on vocals and percussion, born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. He played guitar and sang in his youth and later became an architect and a professor. Kosta has been the lead singer in the band since its founding in 1994.
Maria Arizu on vocals, born and raised in Athens Greece. Maria started her musical career as a singer in the taverns of Plaka in Athens.
Stamatis Houliaras on guitar and flute, born in New Jersey USA. Stamatis is a multitalented musician, composer, and music producer. He performed in music clubs in Greece, participated in recordings, and published his own compositions which include rock, folk, jazz, electronic, classical, and soundtrack music.
Nikos Mylordos (George’s brother) on drum backing tracks, lives on the island of Cyprus and has been in virtual collaboration with KYMATA since 2017. Niko’s drum tracks are complimenting the band's sound along with George’s bass and piano tracks.
