Yanthroddharaka Hanumat Stotram - a divine stotra on Hampi Sri Yanthroddharaka Hanuman!
Yanthroddharaka Hanuman Stotra was composed by the great saint Sri Vyaasaraja Theertha (15th Century AD). He is supposed to be an avatara of the great Prahlada.
Shri Vyaasaraja Theertha used to meditate on a hillock near Chakra Theertha on the banks of Tungabhadra River (near Hampi, Karnataka). And on one of those days during his meditation, an image of Sri Hanumantha kept coming to his mind, and on that night, he had a dream wherein he was instructed to install a Murthy of Sri Hanumantha at the spot where he was meditating earlier in the day.
During his meditation next day when the image appeared, he started to draw the image on a rock using Angara (charcoal). To his dis-belief the image came to life and jumped from the rock. He was astonished, he tried drawing the image several times, and the same repeated. Finally, Sri Vyaasaraja Theertha drew a Yantra (digbhandana) to confine the image of Sri Hanumantha. Then the picture took the form of an icon on the face of the rock. Shri Vyasaraja theertharu was ecstatic and composed the Yantroddharaka Hanumat Stotra.
Later on, a small temple was built, and till today the temple has retained its sanctity and potency. Devotees, who perform seva at the temple, have their desires and wishes fulfilled.
