How to use left hand riemann sum approximation
👉 Learn how to approximate the integral of a function using the Reimann sum approximation. Reimann sum is an approximation of the area under a curve or between two curves by dividing it into multiple simple shapes like rectangles and trapezoids.
In using the Reimann sum to approximate the area under a curve, we can make use of the left endpoints, the right endpoints, and the midpoints. These give an approximation of the integral of a function.
In simpler terms, the intermediate value theorem states that if f(a) and f(b) are the values at the ends of a function, f, over the closed interval [a, b], then there exists a point c, a less than c less than b such that f(a) less than f(c) less than f(b).
