"Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." 1 Corinthians 9: 25(-27)

"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want." Galatians 5: 16-17

My thoughts on Galatians 5: 16-17: The more you exercise self-control and are able to choose the desires of the spirit (against the desires of your flesh), you will eventually begin to realize that some of those very things that were once desirable to you (in the flesh) are no longer desirable to you because you now walk in the spirit.

What do you do with God's blessings? Do you hold/hide them just for yourself and your own pleasures? Or will you put it to use for His glory so that the blessing is multiplied?

Practice Self-Control in the things you do AND Think
"And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10: 5
