Periods Need to be Talked About The period stigma or menstruation taboo affects the mental health of young girls. The menstrual taboo is evidently experienced by millions of girls in the Indian society. In this talk, mother of a girl child ‘Arisha’, medical doctor, author, and world record holder Dr Ankita Kashyap explains how to prepare a girl child for her menstruation.
Dr Ankita Kashyap is a medical doctor by profession and an artist by passion. She completed MBBS from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur, India; and MD (General Medicine) from Gajara Raja Medical College, Gwalior, India. Currently, she is working as a Senior Resident in the department of medicine, Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Medical College and Hospital, Shivpuri, India.
