Welding in a storm! Building a Steel Sailing Boat

Welcome to a video about my sailing boat Pipedream
Pipedream is a Steel trimaran that I built out of an old cooling tower or chimney. She is very different to traditional yachts and some yachties are less than complimentary about unorthodox craft, but she is a strong stable platform and very well suited to single handed sailing.
My plan is to one day go sailing on a big adventure, but so far time, money and luck have not been with me. Nevertheless I struggle on trying to make sure that if one day I get the chance, I will be ready to seize the day and fulfil my dream.
In this video, I arrive in France in the middle of Storm Dennis and have to just ignore the discomfort to get the job done.
I move the out lets for the cooling system ( raw water), I do not need to move the sea cock as I did that some time ago. I also extend the skeg on the rear of the hull so that it matches with the depth of keel and allows me to enlarge the rudder by about 20%. This should improve steering however with twin Enfield sterndrives as well as the rudder she already steers well, but a bit more rudder authority will be useful.
I hope that my bits of information gleaned from the experience of getting it wrong and then making it right may help people here.
Wit the work, I use a Bi-Metal holesaw to cut or drill the hole in the hull. These can be used in almost any material and I have drilled through 6mm stainless steel with relative ease before.
Welding - I use an Oxford 200 amp MIG welder with steel wire and 309LSI stainless wire. Gas is an Argon (92%) and CO2 (8%) mix.
The power cable (extension lead) for the MIG is 8kw cable to reduce volt drop.
Grinding - I use a 125mm (5”) Bosch Grinder with thin cutting discs (1mm), grinding discs and flap discs (60 and 80 grit)
Cutting - I use a Hypertherm Powermax Plasma Cutter with a small 50 litre 1.5hp compressor
Stainless steel - I mainly use 304L as it is easier and cheaper to obtain. 2mm and 1.5mm for most stuff with some 1.2mm where I need to save bit of weight.
Steel - I use cold rolled, mostly 3mm
Paint - I use Jotun Jotamastic 87 and now Jotamastic 90 with Jotun hardtop as top coat.
