Thomas Earnshaw watches have created the Bauer, a skeleton mechanism which allows you to see each intricate piece of the movement as it keeps time.

This watch is very different from most, in that it requires the wearer to manually wind the movement every few days to keep accurate time. It is based on one of the first watch mechanisms developed during the birth of timekeeping.

In order to capture the striking mechanism we shot this commercial almost entirely with a macro lens, which kept the finer details in focus and also helped direct the viewer to a specific area with a very shallow depth of field.
