Water Damage You Can't See: Why Looks Don't Mean Dry #shorts

You walked through the laundry room two days after the washer flooded. Floor feels dry. Baseboards look fine. So no damage, right?

Almost never.

Water doesn't just sit on the floor. It wicks into the bottom of drywall, soaks the carpet pad, and gets pulled into the subfloor by capillary action. Surface evaporation is fastest. Hidden moisture is the slowest to dry and the fastest to grow mold.

A moisture meter and a thermal camera will tell you what your eyes can't. We use both on every job, because what's behind the wall matters more than what's on it.
