Cambria Gold Mines (TSXV: CAMB) - Restructured, Rebranded & Recapitalized.
This stock has run up about 170% since our last interview. Many of you might have missed it. I believe there will be a liquidity event that offers new price discovery beginning tomorrow - the first of two large share unlocks from their $0.60 private placement completed in January.
Rob McLeod is a geologist, executive, and third-generation miner from Stewart, BC. He started his career as a mill operator at the Premier Mine for Westmin Resources in 1991 and as a junior geologist for Lac Minerals at the Red Mountain Project from 1992-1994. He was previously CEO of IDM Mining, which advanced Red Mountain through resource expansion, feasibility, and receipt of EA and EIS approvals before being acquired by Ascot Resources in 2019. Rob is a partner in the Fiore Group and co-founder with the Nisga'a Nation of Nations Royalty Corp, with Selkirk First Nation of Selkirk Copper Mines, and West Red Lake Gold Mines. He holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of British Columbia and a Masters in Mineral Exploration from Queens University.
In this episode — our second sit-down with Rob — we cover the transformation from Ascot Resources to Cambria Gold Mines following the completion of a CA$190M recapitalization, debt restructuring with Nebari and Sprott, lien claimant settlements, and the transition from the NEX Board back to the TSXV main board. We discuss the company's core plan to develop the high-grade Red Mountain Gold Deposit (543,800 oz Measured at 8.81 g/t Au) and blend ore through the existing 2,500 tpd CIL mill at the Premier Gold Project, which cost over CA$538M to build. We dig into recent drill results including 17.95 g/t Au over 22.0 metres at the 602 Zone and 20.7 g/t Au over 15.9 metres at Big Missouri Extension, the new management team and board led by Chairman Alex Morrison (former CFO of Franco-Nevada), the capital structure and ownership breakdown (Ccori Apu 35.6%, Franklin Templeton 11.6%, Nebari 13.2%, Fiore & insiders 18.7%), the upcoming share unlocks on May 1st and May 27th from the CA$175M private placement, the intention to spin out the Mt. Margaret copper-gold porphyry deposit into a new US-focused company, the October 2028 EA/EIS permit deadline, Red Mountain road construction permitting, the updated Feasibility Study targeted for H2 2026, and what investors should be watching for over the next 12 months.
