Rescued Orphaned Elephants Olorien Lodo, and Esoit Graduate to Ithumba | Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

As the rains blessed Ithumba, three orphaned elephants took the next step in their journey back to the wild. On 26th April, Esoit, Olorien, and Lodo bid the Nursery farewell and graduated to our Ithumba Reintegration Unit in the northern sector of Tsavo East National Park.

Established in 1977, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, rescuing and hand-rearing orphaned elephants and other animals that have lost their mothers, all too often as a result of human activity.
