OLBERMANN VS...STEPHEN A. SMITH'S OHTANI COMMENTS AND HOW THEY THREATEN THE ASIAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY

Violence against Asian-Americans was up 150% in this country in 2020. It's up about 164% SINCE last year. We live in a time in which prejudice and stupidity have been authorized and weaponized by Trump and the Maggots. That COVID-19 originated in China has nothing to do with anybody of Asian descent in this country - and it doesn't matter. The premise of Trumpism is blame and hatred and revenge. It doesn't have to be rational.

The last thing they needed was anybody with any kind of platform saying about the Japanese pitching and hitting star of the Los Angeles Angels, Shohei Ohtani, that he shouldn't be the "face of baseball" because he uses a translator when speaking to the American public.

It not only feeds into this horrific time of irrational violence towards people who are victims of the losers and morons of this country, but in saying - in essence - that Ohtani isn't "American enough" to represent baseball, Stephen A. Smith mirrored the same kind of stupid things baseball people used to say about Roberto Clemente and before him, Jackie Robinson.

After a day of delay and not understanding what he had done, Smith finally apologized. I hope he understands what he did.
