#23 A Zellige Border Variation- How to draw Islamic Geometry - زخارف اسلامية هندسية

This pattern is based on a classic star and hexagon motif, seen in Morocco and beyond. I took inspiration from a Zellige border I saw in the Mokhri Palace in Fes, Morroco. I took a tracing of one part and tiled it in not so conventional ways to produce variations. This kind of playing around taught me a great deal and was thoroughly enjoyable - I highly recommend you try it too.

So with #zelligeplay in mind on to this week's#tutorialtuesday challenge:
Construct this pattern using a compass and ruler and tile it, have a play around, with your tile size, and whether you tile it edge to edge, overlapping or a different wat altogether). Decorate it as you wish in whichever materials you prefer. Share your construction, work in progress shots and final piece by using the #zelligeplay hashtag & tagging me in the photo. As usual please try to take clear well lit photos!
