In your job search, relationships are EVERYTHING. If your job search just consists of going to LinkedIn Jobs, Glassdoor, Indeed, etc and applying then you're doing it WRONG 😉 So many jobs (85% in fact) are found and filled through relationships and word of mouth.
And when you find a job through people you have a better chance at:
- Getting a referral link to apply
- Getting an update after you apply
- Having your questions answered during the job search
- And potentially being flagged (in a good way) internally
In this episode, Sarah discusses prioritizing making connections with people, following and engaging with people who work at companies you want to work for as well as the art ofcold emailing hiring managers, and how to keep your messaging short and sweet.
