Yamaha TMAX Major Service : Part 1 : Body Panel Removal & Fuel Pump Replacement To Fix TMAX Fever

In this video series, I'll be replacing the fuel pump assembly and doing routine maintenance to my 2011 Yamaha TMAX 500. The service manual recommends a major service every 12,000 miles and a valve clearance check at 26,600 miles. My TMAX is at almost 28,000 miles, and the last major service was at 12,000 miles, so it's time to dig in.

In part 1, I'll remove body panels and components necessary to access the fuel tank and pump and replace the pump with the revised version from Yamaha that should eliminate the dreaded TMAX fever. I'll show you every fastener and panel removed, with notes to help you locate diagrams in the service manual, and then slow it down and go over the fuel pump replacement process. All of the panels are removed in about 10 minutes, thanks to fast motion, but pause or slow the video playback if you want to catch every detail and caption.
