Why Your Lower Back Pain Isn't Going Away (It Might Not Be Structural)

If lower back pain isn't improving despite treatment, the cause might not be purely biological. Pain is explained by the biopsychosocial model — meaning biological, psychological, and social factors can all contribute to how pain is experienced and how long it persists. Chronic stress, for example, can keep the nervous system sensitized even after the original physical issue has healed, which is why pain can persist without an ongoing structural cause.

This doesn't mean the pain isn't real — it means treatment may need to address more than just the physical component.

This is general education, not medical advice — always consult a healthcare professional for guidance specific to your condition.
