Rajiv, a sales employee in a retail interior design shop, is the last one left working late into
the night. His wife and child wait outside for a promised dinner, an evening he has owed them for a long time. As Rajiv prepares to shut the shop and leave, his boss casually says he’ll be
there in half an hour, so Rajiv must wait before closing. What seems like an ordinary
remark quietly reveals something deeper: the disregard for a worker’s time,
dignity, and life beyond the workplace
