As I am recording my new album, I can’t help but share this infectious enthusiasm with you while being creative.
I usually improvise along until I find several ideas which will form a structure for my solo. I decided to start with a high note and continued with some jazzy scales, making it simple to comprehend for anyone. In the second chorus, I decided to keep the listener’s attention by using percussive sounds and rhythm patterns. The repetition of a pattern is something I enjoy, almost like in a looping style. It also gives a sense of structure. As my solo was almost over, I instinctively followed the ideas based on the scale and played with a dynamic to achieve a perfect conclusion.
Finally, I can’t wait to end the mastering of the track and upload my Smooth Operator saxophone version to Spotify!
