Disappearance of Submarine ARA San Juan

The ARA San Juan S-42 submarine was on its way from Ushuaia to Mar del Plata when it suddenly disappeared.

The last contact with ground control was on November 15, 2017, and a massive search and rescue operation followed for weeks.

Still, there was no sign of the wreckage, and many theories circulated about its whereabouts, with many people speculating that the submarine was on a mission to spy on British vessels near the Falklands.

But the truth would not be known until precisely a year and a day later...
