Born in the U.S. to parents of Guatemalan and Salvadoran descent, Roldan left open the possibility of playing for all three nations and never put his hand over his heart when the "Star Spangled Banner" played before a match. That all changed on July 12, 2017, when the midfielder was handed his first appearance for the U.S. Men's National Team.
