SHOULD YOU BUY A CFMOTO 650GT? | FIRST RIDE REVIEW | ROXAS RIDES
CFMoto is a Chinese motorcycle brand that’s well-known as a producer of cost-effective vehicles. The company produced 98 vehicle models while 51 of their engines are distributed over 1900 companies worldwide. CFMoto is now brought to India by AMW Motorcycles, an Indian based company. Together, they bring a wide range of premium motorcycles at a very competitive price range. Today, we take a look at the CFMoto 650GT!
Power:
Powering this bike is a 650cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 62.5bhp @9000RPM with 58.5nm of torque @7000Rpm. The bike delivers a monstrous mid-range punch once it crosses the 4000Rpm mark, and the delivery is full of torque that kept me entertained. It has a very smooth engine and a very smooth throttle response that gives you a refined, comfortable, and exciting ride throughout. The bike is designed to have a vibration-free ride. And it definitely shows! I’ve ridden this bike hard, and I didn’t come across any noticeable vibrations.
Handling:
The bike weighs 226kg and the size of the bike can easily be compared to even liter-class sport-touring bikes. In spite of this, the bike has cat-like reflexes and that took me by surprise. It is extremely easy to handle even in peak traffic conditions. Thanks to the low seat height of 795mm, it becomes easy to turn even at still-slow speeds. Also, it allows shorter riders to equally enjoy the motorcycle while inspiring greater confidence. I’m very impressed by the design and how weight management is done on this motorcycle.
Braking:
The bike is equipped with dual-discs in the front and a single disc at the rear, with Dual-Channel ABS as standard. The braking during my test felt more than adequate and the bite is progressive. It feels spongy when you initialize but the bite becomes stronger as you jam the brakes. It has more than enough stopping power even if you’re cruising around the speeds of 150kmph.
Riding Comfort:
The bike has an incredible upright position, comfortable seats, front-set footpegs, fully-adjustable windscreen, smooth clutch, and a lighter throttle response. The rider and the pillion can enjoy city commutes as well as long rides without feeling strained or discomfort. Also, the engine heat doesn’t affect the rider because the bike dissipates the heat away, and that’s just perfect even if one chooses to commute with this bike which is essentially designed for touring.
Suspension:
The bike comes with 38mm Telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock with a softer suspension setup to give the rider and the pillion a comfortable ride. The bike soaks up most of the potholes while keeping the ride smooth and enjoyable. Even with the softer suspension setup and thinner front forks, the bike surprisingly felt very sturdy and confidence-inspiring. I could even corner the bike and it felt extremely stable. I would’ve personally liked adjustable upside-down front forks with AT-LEAST 41mm of thickness like its cousin, the 650MT. Needless to say, the suspension works well given the size and the weight of the bike.
SHOULD YOU BUY!?
Priced in at 5.49 Lakhs ex-showroom India, this bike is a superior sports tourer that cannot be ignored. With the way it looks, performs, and feels, I’d say that this bike is definitely giving a run for the money to its competitors. CFMoto is very promising! With new showrooms and service networks rising up all across India, the dawn of CFMoto can be considered as nothing short of, “breathtaking.”
