DIY Brake System Bleeding and Flushing with a MityVac Vacuum Bleeder

***IMPORTANT NOTE - PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL REPEATEDLY AFTER YOU'RE DONE USING A MITYVAC ON YOUR CAR TO BUILD UP BRAKING PRESSURE PRIOR TO RELEASING THE PARKING BRAKE OR PUTTING THE CAR INTO GEAR! MITYVAC DEPRESSURIZES THE SYSTEM AND HAVE NO BRAKES UNTIL YOU PUMP THE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO BUILD THE PRESSURES BACK UP. YOU WILL CRASH YOUR CAR OR HURT SOMEONE IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THIS CRITICAL FINAL STEP!***

Video showing how to perform a system brake fluid flush using a Mityvac 6830 vacuum bleeder system. The MityVac makes quick work out of an otherwise laborious task by using your shop air to generate negative pressure (vacuum) in the MityVac that will draw all the contaminates and old brake fluid out of the braking system without ever harming the delicate seals inside the master cylinder bore. The average DIY home mechanic doesn't likely need to own a MityVac but
I like using the MityVac b/c it is a fast and easy tool to quickly complete brake flushing/bleeding jobs where manual bleeding takes too much time or if you're trying to really clean up (via flushing) the brake system in a hurry.

if you do a lot of brake jobs and have access to a large compressor then owning a MityVac might just prove to be VERY handy.

In my video I am doing a brake fluid flush on a 2002 Honda Accord V6. I only show 2 wheels being done - front and rear. The process for all the other wheels is the same.

Enjoy!
