Strongest Gum / Adhesive from Petrol and Thermocol | Science Behind it | In TAMIL | Vicky - Pedia

Welcome back to My Channel Vicky - Pedia. In this video, I have made a Strongest Gum (Adhesive) from the waste Thermocol and Petrol. It is the Strongest Gum, which can stick two Bricks. So, watch this video without skipping. It will helpful to your Chemistry Studies and your Environmental Studies. It will help us to reduce the Environmental pollution by reducing the waste of Thermocol and use it in the alternative use called Thermocol gum. It is planned to use in the construction works in foreign countries. Those researches are going under Processing.

SCIENCE BEHIND IT:

Petrol is a hydrocarbon which comes under the family alkane. it has a chemical name OCTANE with chemical formula C8H18. Thermocol is made from Polystyrene in it is an aromatic hydrocarbon with chemical formula C8H8. Thermocol contains only 5% of Polystyrene and the rest 95% are Air. Thermocol is made during the expansion of Polystyrene at high temperature. Petrol goes under the endothermic reaction. Endothermic reaction is called as the absorption of heat. So petrol absorbs the heat from the atmosphere and can volatile in air. When Thermocol is put in the Petrol, the Petrol melts the thermocol by absorbing the air from the Thermocol. At last, we can only get the melted polystyrene with the petrol. This can act as a strong gum and it is also highly inflammable. Because, these two are hydrocarbons.
