So the new Shark F80 is basically the upgraded version of the Shark Ionflex 2x which we have reviewed in the past.

The F80 has many of the same features as the Ionflex including the Duoclean technology, LED lights on the nozzle, the multiflex feature which is flexible wand activated by a button to vacuum under furniture without bending over. It also acts as a way to conveniently store the vacuum when not in use. Attachment packages can vary but mine came with a crevice tool an upholstery tool, a car detailing crevice tool slash dusting brush, a charging dock, and 2 Ion battery packs.

It has a low and a high power, with the high power being on a 1 minute timer which is new, you can also flip a switch to change from carpet to hard floors which changes the suction and brush roll speed.

Alright so lets get into the pros.

Subscribers of this channel know I love the Duoclean technology, which is a innovative cleaner head design which incorporates a soft roller which makes it amazing for hard floors as well as standard brush roll for carpet agitation.

With duoclean to touch it is to vacuum it, and its why we use duocleans with our cleaning business. Quite simply Duocleans can pick up things other vacuums just cant, this is mostly evident with large debris on both hard floors and carpets but its performance with the finedust is also well above average for vacuums of any type.

And it does all this while retaining one of the best seals on hard floors and carpet which is evident from its top 5% performance on the crevice pickup test.

Its also a magnet for pet hair on hard floors and carpet but its agitation is pretty good for a cordless vacuum doing quite well with the fine debris on carpet.

I should also mention that all of these tests were done in both low and high power and I honestly found no instances where high power was strictly needed since the Duoclean nozzle relies less on airflow than other cordless vacuums but rather on the mechanics of the floor head.

Another big pro is its battery life, and this is also where the biggest change from the previous Ionflex cordless vacuums comes in.

So despite the exact same battery being used with Ionflex, Shark has increased the battery life by adjusting the power of each setting for the F80.

For example Shark has reduced its power on low power to 24 cfm at the wand which now matches the Dyson V10 on its low power setting, giving it 43:32 minutes per battery on suction only attachments for a whopping 87 minutes total or 28:34 per battery (57 minutes total) on low power with the cleaner head attached and 13:31 per battery or 27 minutes total on high power with the cleaner head, which is pretty good even before you factor in the extra battery but as you can see it also makes the Shark F80 the best cordless vacuum for battery life that we have tested yet.

I should also mention that its power on high power is pretty significant reaching 84 inches of suction and 38 cfm of airflow at the wand, which is above average for cordless vacuums on both counts.

I initially thought the Multiflex feature was just a gimmick but I do find that its intuitive and helpful for getting under beds and other furniture and I do actually use it.

The bin size is kind of a pro as it is just a little above average at 2 ¾ cups this compared to the Dyson V8 at 2.5 cups which I consider the average amount. I liked how springily the bin release was but like other cordless vacuums you do occasionally have to fish out stuck debris but not quite as much as other cordless vacuums.

So lets move on to the cons.

Its pretty minor but although the weight of the handheld unit is basically the exact same as the Dyson V8 which I consider to be light its weight distribution is not quite as good and it’s a little more tiring on the arm in handheld mode, at least with the wand attached.
