I will be teaching my entire botanical watercolor painting process inspired by the native plants and vibrant colours of Morocco. By the end of the retreat, you'll get to create your own frame-worthy composition — a botanical snapshot of your time in Morocco.

This retreat is perfect for all painting abilities; we will start everyone off with the fundamentals of watercolour painting and then move on to studying native plants & flowers - and I will make sure to help guide you at your own pace - choosing a color palette, composing an arrangement on the page all so we can create beautiful pieces of art that you can hang on the wall and be proud of.

We will stay at Atlas Kasbah; a beautiful air conditioned eco-lodge with a Berber-inspired design, welcoming fresh breezes from the Atlantic coast. Enjoy a three-course welcome dinner with wine, savoring delightful Moroccan flavors. There are beautiful gardens, plenty of shade and a beautiful pool to dip in whenever you wish! We will have gourmet, chef-made meals, (vegan and vegetarian friendly, no worries about special requests).

When we aren’t painting in the art studio we will explore the Claudio Bravo Palace and the stunning garden, modeled after the Menara Gardens in Marrakech on a half day trip. Throughout the guided tour of the estate, wander the labyrinthine paths and gather inspiration from the impressive collection of exotic plants, original Egyptian statues, ancient Moroccan vases, and of course, Bravo's own paintings. Snap some reference photos, or take your time sketching the native flora in the gorgeous gardens.

We will also take half day trips to the lovely fishing village of Taghazout, by the Atlantic coast and Souk El Had in Agadir, the city's beating heart. This market is a colorful reflection of modern Moroccan culture. Explore its winding paths, capturing the vivid sights of fresh produce, fragrant spice stalls, and delicate dried flowers. You'll also enjoy sweeping views of Agadir from a cable car ride.

We have kept the trips to half days to ensure the maximum amount of time to paint with me at the Kasbah.

Atlas Kasbah has a range of beautiful accommodation, single and shared rooms. We create a Facebook group in advance of the retreat so we can all get to know each other and connect. By the time we’re at the retreat all those nerves will be gone and we’ll be on our way to making life long friends in this beautiful place.
