'Complex' Budget has left the Treasurer with a 'tough job'
The Australian National Editor Dennis Shanahan has acknowledged that Treasurer Jim Chalmers has a “tough job” regarding the federal Budget.
The federal Budget will be announced May 14 and is set to address cost-of-living relief as well as inflation.
“The budgets are much more complex and more difficult economic documents these days,” Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin
“One of the problems that Jim Chalmers has is that he has offered to cut inflation, and at the same time to deliver cost of living relief, and at the same time there is huge amount of spending.
“All of these thing are inconsistent, particularly in the longer term."
