Republic of Korea Traditional Army Band & Chae Hyang-Soon Joong/Ang Song and Dance Group

The Traditional Band of the Army of the Republic of Korea was formed in 1968 and is known as the Chewi-Ta Band. Its mission is to preserve the cultures of Korea through public performances of its spiritual music throughout the world. The band has performed at Inaugural Ceremonies, The Asian Games in 1986, The Seoul Olympics in 1988, The World Cup in 2002 Korea/Japan, and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2003. The Band Master of the Republic of Korea Traditional Army Band is Captain Kwak, Kyung-Chui.

Chae Hyang-Soon Joong/Ang Song and Dance Group was formed under the Joong/Ang Traditional Music and Art Association. They have toured Taiwan and the United States. These fantastic performers offer traditional dances that are representative of three main points: Song, Dance and Music. The group performs the Buchae or fan dance, a very popular Korean folk dance. This is performed by a troupe of women with colorful folding fans and the main feature of this dance is the variation of the movements of opening, closing and fluttering of the fans. This dance is known to represent the beauty and grace of the Korean woman. The Master of the group is Chae Hyang-Soon.
