Led by James Hardens 34 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, the No. 2 seed Nets defeated the No. 7 seed Celtics, 123-109, in Game 5. Kyrie Irving (25 points, 9-14 FG) and Kevin Durant (24 points, four rebounds) added 49 points for the Nets in the victory, while Jayson Tatum tallied 32 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Celtics in the losing effort. The Nets have now closed out this best-of-seven series, 4-1, and will advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals to face the No. 3 seed Milwaukee Bucks.
