Why Research the Martial Arts?
I asked Professor Dan Anderson, author of "American Freestyle Karate: A Guide to Sparring", and founder of MA-80, why he researches so wholeheartedly all aspects of the martial arts. His answers as to why he dives into the magic and mystical elements of karate and other styles is enlightening. My favorite quote: "For every famous, really good master out there, there's ten you've never heard of." For all those martial artists that hear something in class and question it, this is worth a listen.
