"Purriot and the case of the missing bronze horse" premiered on May 12, 2018. It is a new Norwegian children's opera written for the Children's Chorus at the National Norwegian Opera & Ballet (conductor Edle Stray-Pedersen). It is based on the popular children's book series about master detective and leek "Purriot", by author Bjørn F. Rørvik, who also wrote the libretto for the opera. Gisle Kverndokk composed the music. Direction: Heidi Bruun Nedregaard. Conductor: Håkon Daniel Nystedt.

Aksel Rykkvin played the main role as master detective Purriot, and this was his first opera role after his voice changed late in the autumn 2017.
