Minecraft ist ein Indie-Open-World-Spiel, das vom schwedischen Programmierer Markus „Notch“ Persson erschaffen und von dessen Firma Mojang, welche im September 2014 für 1,9 Milliarden Euro durch den Microsoft-Konzern aufgekauft wurde,[14] veröffentlicht und weiterentwickelt wird. Das Spiel erschien am 10. Mai 2009 für den PC, war damals jedoch noch in der Entwicklungsphase, welche die Alpha- und Beta-, sowie noch einige andere Versionen umfasste.[15] Mojang veröffentlichte zusätzliche Versionen für iOS, Android und den Raspberry Pi.[7] Die Portierung auf die Konsolen wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit 4J Studios entwickelt. Fast alle Versionen von Minecraft erhalten regelmäßige Updates. Mit den Verkäufen aller Minecraft-Versionen wurde das Spiel über 72 Millionen Mal verkauft und ist somit eines der meistverkauften Videospiele weltweit.

"Life in the Woods" is a Minecraft modpack created by Phedran. From Phedran's own website , this modpack is "all about exploration, simple living, self-sufficiency, creative expression and veganism; a Minecraft love letter to the writings of Henry D. Thoreau.

The focus is on exploring, foraging, manual farming, hand crafting, and living in harmony with nature."
