30 MWp - The World’s Largest Lightweight Solar Project

Sunman supplied 70,000 modules (430W) to a 30 MWp power plant in Huai An, China. The modules were installed on a coal shed located on a large steel mill plant.

The shed has a height of 42 meters and a width spanning several hundred meters. The structure was unable to install conventional glass modules due to static load issues, hence Sunman’s lightweight solar modules were the perfect solution.

Sunman solar modules were glued directly to the shed’s trapezoidal metal roof with adhesives, eliminating the need for mounting hardware and clamps.

It is estimated the power plant will generate 30 million kWh of green electricity and reduce 29,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. The project also showcases how lightweight solar can help decarbonize the steel industry.
