This is essentially the 2nd (of a total of 49 kritis) of Thyagaraja's "Prahlada Bhakta Vijayam" , a dance/opera he composed (you can reference the entire text above using the sadagopan.org link, it is excellent!)
In this scene, the gatekeeper arrives on to the scene and sings the praises of Hari (Vishnu). As per the excellent reference Thyagaraja Vaibhavam (referenced above), here is the word by word meaning of the kriti (all the way below)
Madurai Mani Iyer was known for his perfect pitch/shruti, and this is an excellent example. He is never off pitch! Similarly, his ability to evoke joy is unparalleled. Case in point - the entire charanam, leading up to the Neraval at "Raga Tala" is spellbounding! It is fitting that as the three artists seem to be dancing to the tune of Kalyani, the lyrics are of course referencing the gate-keeper who is literally dancing to the tune (See this gate-keeper who -
dancing (naTanamu sEyucunu) very (mIra) nicely (bAgu),
self (tA) praying (vEDucunu) to Lord hari - the redeemer (pAvanuni) (literally purifier) of the fallen (patita),
singing (pADucunu) to rAga, tALa and gati (gatulanu) and
extolling (pogaDucunu) the Lord - well-praised (san-nutuni) by tyAgarAja,
proceeded chanting ‘vAsudEva’!)
