The Heart Attack Grill officially opened in 2005, and it wasn't always located in Las Vegas. It actually started out in Tempe, Arizona. The mastermind behind the concept is Jon Basso, who goes by the moniker "Dr. Jon, Chief Surgeon" when he's talking about his culinary creation. And in case you were wondering, no, he's not a real doctor. It turns out that he came up with the idea for the grill after writing about it as a part of a marketing thesis.
